Kemal Gekich' Summer School
A Mastercourse in Piano Interpretation
During the period 02-11 August, "Kemal Gekich' Summer School" will be held for the third time in the heart of the historic town of Split in central part of Dalmatia, Croatia in "Josip Hatze" music school.
The number of participants in the course is limited; therefore it is recommended to apply early. In addition to active participation, passive participation is generally possible.
Inexpensive accommodation can be arranged in the town both for you and for persons accompanying you directly by our partner agency. It is also possible to extend your stay.
The participation fee also includes entrance to Kemal Gekich's piano recital on "Splitsko ljeto" festival both with welcoming drink for all participants.
A planned trip to National park Krka and historical town Šibenik with an extra fee is optional.
The "Kemal Gekić Summer School" is organized by Association "Piano projekt" from Split.
The "Kemal Gekić Summer School" is held under the patronage of the City of Split.
General
We guarantee to every active participant 4 hours à 60 minutes lessons. Practice rooms will be available to the students free of charge. Reservation for the practice rooms can be made in the main office. In course there are 2 concerts of participants, where students recommended by the professor can participate free of charge. Concert on Hvar will be followed by a cultural sightseeing tour in the surroundings. After the concert at the Franciscan monastery.
We offer a dinner with professor and organizator for all participants of the course. The concert by Kemal Gekich can be attended by all the participants free of charge. A welcome drink and a sightseeing of host town Split is free of charge. All participants will get a Split card wich offers a variety of free entrances as well as discounts for museums, theatres, some restaurants etc.

Biography
Flamboyant, daring, provocative, exciting, seductive and sensitive are some of the words used to describe one of today's most formidable pianists, Kemal Gekich, whose playing has been acclaimed worldwide by public and critics alike.Born in Split, Croatia in 1962, Gekich amazed his family by accurately picking out melodies at the piano at age one and a half.
Events
During the Summer School participants should have two public concerts, in town of Trogir and Hvar.
A trip to historical town Trogir, a trip to island Hvar with sightseeing, a dinner and a concert of participants, sightseeing of Split, a "Split summer festival" concert.
An optional one-day trip to National park Krka and historical town Šibenik
Accommodation
You can choose to share a student flat with six or seven Kemal Gekich' Summer School students. In a student flat you'll prepare your own meals and interact with other students of all ages and backgrounds.
Of course, you also have the option of staying in a local hotel. Contact us in advance and we will be happy to arrange accommodation for you in one of our recommended local hotels.
